Polistena (RC) / Varsavia, 1984
Alessandro Fonte (Polistena, 1984) studied at the Unical of Arcavacata and at the Estav of Barcelona. Shawnette Poe (Warsaw, 1980) studied at the University of Arts Bremen. They live and work in Ljubljana. Their work as a duo develops alongside their individual research since 2009. They use diverse media from installation to performance and video.
Their works have been selected for exhibitions and screenings in Europe, Africa and America. In 2012 they realize a site-specific project for the Bramante Cloister in Roma. In the same year they produce a work for VIVA | Performance Lab organized by the MAXXI Foundation of Rome and curated by Tania Bruguera and Cristiana Perrella. In 2014 they are selected for Dak’art OFF during Dak’Art- 11ème Biennale de l’Art Africain Contemporain.
